9How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word.
The Word of God will teach you how to live and be blessed, the Word of God has completely equipped us all to do the work that God has called us to do. The youth have suffered a brutal attack by the enemy. With the influence of today’s media the lines of what is right and what is wrong, what is good and what is bad have been blurred. We are losing our direction and purpose, and seeking to re-gain it in all the wrong ways. I know there are a lot of young people longing to walk the righteous path, longing to not live according to worldly standards. You may not admit it to your friends or even to your families but I know that there are plenty of you out there who know when you’re alone at night, examining your life and thinking to yourself that the place you’re at right now is not where you are supposed to be, that there is better in store for you. I know there are many of you that know there is more to life than drugs, sex, money, and other material things. I’ve had those same thoughts, and have been in that exact same place. A place where I felt like my life was in a whirlwind, taking a downward spiral and I didn’t know whether to go right or left, and just couldn’t seem to find and stay on the straight and narrow path to my destiny. I’m here to tell you that there is more to life, and that there is someone and something who can help you to find and stay on the path of purity to your destiny. That someone and that something is Jesus Christ and the Word of God. Through Christ you can be delivered from the ways of the world. Through Christ you can come out of that addiction. Through Christ you can come out of that depression. Through Christ you can be delivered from your past. Through Christ you can get rid of all your fears, your doubts, and anxiety. You as a young person can come out of whatever is hindering you and keeping you from reaching your full potential, keeping you from walking in the blessings that God has for you. You do it by living according to His Word. You’ve done it your way all these years and you’re still stuck in that same place. Make the change today and put your life in Christ hands and allow God and His perfect, true, and living Word to govern and navigate your life so you can finally get on and stay on the path of purity and become all that God has called you to be.
11 “This command I am giving you today is not too difficult for you, and it is not beyond your reach. 12 It is not kept in heaven, so distant that you must ask, ‘Who will go up to heaven and bring it down so we can hear it and obey?’ 13 It is not kept beyond the sea, so far away that you must ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to bring it to us so we can hear it and obey?’14 No, the message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart so that you can obey it.

Ephesians 6:10-18 10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we[d] are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.[e] 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.[f] 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere
We all fight internal battles every single day. AS Christians however we are fighting a unique battle every day that is not against flesh- and blood but against the devil and his evil spirits. This scripture gives us a complete game plan and tells us straight up who it is that we are going to be playing and going up against and how we can win. And unlike most games and battles in the world there’s a 100% chance that we will win if we stick to the game plan and follow the instructions given to us in the Holy Bible, the TRUE and living Word of GOD. Verse 11 starts of by telling us to first put on our armor of GOD so that we are able to stand FIRM against the devil (paraphrasing). Then verse 12 goes on to tell us who our opponent is. It tells us that our opponent is not of flesh and blood but evil spirits which means that the battle is taking place internally. I know we’ve all had days where we’ve allowed our thoughts to drive us crazy; whether it be thoughts of doubt, thoughts of fear, worrying, stress, or any other form of negative thinking. WE must understand that those thoughts are just tricks from the enemy. Its him working internally to try and get our mind off track and to prevent us from doing the will of God. That’s why its so important to identify the opponent and remind ourselves when we start thinking negatively like that, its just the enemy trying to get us off track. But don’t worry my bruddas and sistas because verse 13 goes on to tell us that we WILL win the battle against the enemy. We just have to do our part and follow instructions and do what the Word says and put on our armor of GOD. Our DAILY armor is:
This is our armor. This is what we need to defeat the enemy on a daily basis. But verse 18 is the icing on the cake, the cherry on top, the “piece de resistance” if you will and that is to PRAY, PRAY, PRAY, PRAY, PRAY, PRAY at ALL times and on EVERY occasion and not just for ourselves but for our fellow believers! If we make a conscious effort every single day that we are BLESSED enough to wake up to put on this armor and just simply get into the presence of GOD and stay there and mix that in with prayer all throughout the day the enemy doesn’t have a fighting chance. God has given us everything that we need to succeed, we are guaranteed a victory here folks… but we have to do our part and follow the game plan. It’s a CONSTANT battle which means that we can’t take any days off and forget to put our armor on because we will become vulnerable to the enemy and that can get us into some serious trouble. He’s sittin’ around just plotting and waiting to catch us slipping so that he can pounce on us and try to keep us from carrying out Gods purpose for our life. Satan’s job is to get us off track and draw us away from God, don’t let him, do NOT get caught slipping because I’m telling you the SPECIAL and UNIQUE calling God has on YOUR life is entirely too important so you must remember to put on your armor EVERY day. This is a year of promotion don’t let the devil get you off track or catch you slippin and delay you from getting promoted and becoming all that God has destined YOU to be. Put on your armor, stand FIRM on the Word of God and just keep your mind stayed focused on God all day every day, pray at ALL times, and YOU will be victorious.
|Proverbs 3 13-26
13 Blessed are those who find wisdom,
19 By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundations,
21 My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight,
I was looking up Bible verses that speak on being focused and Google sent me to this chapter, Proverbs Chapter 3 so I started reading. As I was reading, verses 13-15 really stood out to me and made me start thinking about the 1.4 billion dollar Powerball lottery ticket that everyone has been going crazy about. Within these verses it says that BLESSED are those who find WISDOM and then goes on to say how WISDOM is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold (that’s me paraphrasing). I kept reading that over and over again and thinking about the Powerball and about how we as Americans and just people in general seem to have a FETISH for money and other materialistic things… WE hold money, cars, clothes, jewelry and anything else that can be PURCHASED in such high esteem… We treat money as if it is more valuable than our relationships, our friends, our integrity, our honor, our pride, it outweighs our beliefs and morals at times and the list goes on…If we put in half the time and effort that we put in to trying to obtain money, and trying to get ahead and “keep up with Jones’”, and started chasing after WISDOM, understanding, and after GOD with that same fire, desire , and passion THEN we would TRULY be RICHLY blessed and “wealthy” people. Don’t get me wrong 1 billion dollars would nice and Im not saying anything is wrong with having money or wanting money and by no means and I’m knocking ANYONE who bought a Powerball ticket, all I’m saying is don’t let MONEY or any other worldly materials cloud your judgment and take the place of what is TRULY valuable in life. Money is great, clothes are great, cars are great I love all that stuff too but none of those things or any other worldly materials are more valuable than WISDOM and a relationship with GOD. Stay focused on GOD and HIS Word and HIS Will and make HIM number ONE and above all things in your life and you will experience and possess things far more valuable than anything money can buy.
I aim to try and write at least 1 post per week, and last week I failed and didn’t write any posts. It wasn’t because I forgot, or because I was too busy, or because of the holidays. It was because I was too scared. I allowed my fear to take over and keep me from doing what God has asked me to do. The whole week I was thinking about my blog and how I really needed to write something but I was afraid that I wasn’t going to be able to come up with anything and that if I came up with something it wasn’t going to be good enough to post so I did nothing. Yet that whole week I was praying and believing in God to come through and help my girlfriend write a song she’s been working hard on, but I wasn’t believing that He could do the exact same thing for me…Which is just a shame. But anyway, around 11 o’clock in the morning yesterday I was sitting on the toilet and I was thinking about my pastors New Year’s Eve sermon in which he declared 2016 as a year of promotion; a year for us all to be promoted to promote. The first Sunday of the New Year he elaborated on that New Years Eve sermon and said something along the lines of “if you want a life in which you are promoted then don’t run from what God told you to do”. And as I was sitting on the toilet I realized that’s exactly what I had been doing. I was running away from what God told me to do, which was to do this blog.I realized that this blog is a way to show love one to another, to lift someone else up and to magnify GOD, and my delay, procrastination was rooted in fear not faith.. So I got up off the toilet and decided to stop allowing fear to hold me back. I said a prayer asking that God would be with me and speak through me and that HIS will would be done, then I just started writing. I say all of this to encourage you all not to let fear or anything else or anyone else keep you from doing what God has told you to do. I know it’s hard sometimes believe me…but like my pastor said you can’t expect to get promoted in life and reach new levels if you run from what God has told you to do. There are blessings in 2016 with your name on them, but you can’t tap into those blessings unless you do what God has instructed you to do. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you, so as long as you are doing what God has told you to do and are asking for HIS will to be done then you are protected and setting yourself up to be promoted in life.
