Ephesians 3:17-21  17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Make it Personal

sky22 (1 of 1)Are you one of those people who believes in God and loves God but you don’t like organized religion? I know I was, but after giving my life to Christ I realized that God desires to have a RELATIONSHIP with us, we can miss out on so much that GOD has for us by focusing on RELIGION, rituals, traditions things that have nothing to do with GOD or his WORD.  I was in “the church” but not living for Christ, feeling like an outsider. I felt like I was observing people doing the most, dancing, shouting and being told what to do to make my life boring. But, NOW as I have grown with God I know that I was completely wrong. When I started truly living for God it was not specifically something that was said to me at church it was a string of events that happened to me that I knew only could be of God…For me it was personal things that I saw transpire in my life and me realizing that it was God who brought me out of them. It was what I PERSONALLY saw him do in my life that made me come to him and that’s how it should be for all of us, something personal between us and God. Yes I had been in church all my life but I still didn’t have a RELATIONSHIP with GOD. WE all need to find out where we personally are most connected to God and get to that place mentally and physically every day. The bible says, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be answered”. WE just simply have to do our part and seek God out. He’s always there waiting for us to come to him we just have to actually come to him…We need to realize that we can literally talk and have a conversation with God and ask Him for whatever we want. If you want a relationship with God, pray and tell God straight up that you are trying to develop a relationship with him. Tell him you’re here right now seeking him and trying to start a relationship with him. Throw out all of your past judgments on religion and organized church, PLEASE… and just focus on the RELATIONSHIP aspect. Make it PERSONAL between you and God. I am a living witness once I started to really just focus on me and Him I started seeing changes. You hear His voice more clearly and vividly when you stay in His WORD and remain connected to Him. If you’re only talking to Him once a week at church, you can’t readily recognize His voice. It won’t be familiar to you. The closer you get and the more time you spend with Him through prayer and reading your relationship will grow and things will suddenly become much clearer to you. You don’t just stop by and see your boyfriend or shorty once a week or talk to them once a week do you? No you don’t. You talk to and text them all day, every day and  see them daily and you’re getting to know them better;  what makes them happy and sad, angry and calm as the relationship grows. That’s how we should be with God. Constantly speaking to Him daily through prayer and reading the Bible, this will help us get to know what makes him happy and what disappoints Him. Focus on the relationship aspect between you and God, not the religious aspects, not what you feel about the church or how you feel about organized religion; then you will begin to see changes in your life and thoughts about Christianity.

Three things I need you to do:

  1. Pray and tell God that you are trying to build a relationship with him and that you are seeking him, and that you want the relationship to grow and become better (Jeremiah 9:13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.)
  2. Start reading your Bible so that you can get to know Christ, gain a better understanding of who he is (baby steps: download Holy Bible app and read their daily word and visit my website and read my daily word so that you’re getting the word in you (mediate on it day and night). Grow from there
  3. Keep praying
