“The change I want to see, must first begin in me”

In light of all that is taking place in the world with the terrorist attacks as well as the police shootings I understand that people are starting to become fearful, and not knowing what to do to change things. I just finished watching the video of the police officer in Minnesota who shot and killed Philando Castile as he was reaching to grab his license and registration.  After watching that God told me that I needed to start praying for this nation that I needed to start praying for this country and the world that I live in.  We spend so much time focused on ourselves in our prayer time (myself included), we need to start focusing our prayers on others. Start praying for the nation, because I don’t think it’s a secret that we are in desperate need of it.  God already knows what we have need of before we ask. Everything that we need God has already taken care of it. We need to stop spending all our time focused on ourselves and start praying for our nation and for our community. We have to pray for the police offers of our nation. WE have to pray that God may give them strength when they are on the job. We have to pray that God may give them wisdom and the ability to make sound judgment when they are out fighting crime and in midst of difficult situations. WE have to pray that the police officers and this country as a whole will turn their hearts to God and see that each and every one of us, black, white, yellow, purple are all God’s handmade creations made in His image and likeness. WE have to pray that the police officers may learn to look past the color of our skin when they pull us over and look deeper and see that we aren’t just a black guy, or a white woman but that we are a human being just like them hand made by God. We have to pray that as a nation we may stop racially profiling individuals and stop judging people based off of their appearances. Whether it’s by the clothes they have on or the color of their skin. None of that matters… The way somebody looks should not stop us from doing what God has called us ALL to do which is to love him, and to love others. We have to make these prayers. I know that we all see that this world is getting darker and darker, and that something needs to change. We have to understand that prayer changes things…WE have to understand that God is more than able. WE have to pray for things to change. We have to pray for people to turn their hearts to God. We have to pray that the people elected into office will choose to govern their lives as well as this nation according to the Word of God, and not by their own limited human wisdom. WE have to make these prayers and petition God not on behalf of our self but on behalf of the nation. But we as individuals MUST DO OUR PART! The change we want to see must first begin in us. WE have to make sure that no matter where we are, no matter who we are around, no matter what the situation or the circumstance is, that we are showing love and being a light in this seemingly dark world. WE have to live lives ALL DAY EVERY DAY that are REFLECTIVE and REPRESENTATIVE of JESUS CHRIST. We have to live lives that show that Christ lives in us (not just at church or around Christians). People are looking for answers…and THE answer is Jesus Christ. So today and every day that you are blessed by God to wake up you need to live a life that reflects and represents Jesus Christ so that people may me see Him in you and turn their hearts to Him.  Pray for your country. Pray for your governing officials. Pray for the police officers. Pray for your community. Pray for the Castile family and every other family effected by these recent tragedies. Prayer changes things but you have to have faith and KNOW that God is able. God did not give us a spirit of fear. There is nothing to be afraid of if we pray and ask for God’s will to be done. Our fear says to God that we don’t think He is able to turn this around. That we think the terrorist, the police officers, and Satan are more powerful than HE is…and that’s just not true. Activate faith, not fear and pray for the world. But understand that the change you want to see in this world must first begin with you. Be a light. Let Christ shine through you today.  Turn your heart towards Christ and pray that the world does the same.

Let me put the Word on it:

  1. 2 Timothy 1:7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
  2. Mark 12: 30-31 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[a]31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] There is no commandment greater than these.”
  3. Matthew 5: 14-16 14 “You are the light of the world.A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
  4. Matthew 6: 6-8 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

This episode talks about the death penalty, guns and weapons, as well as politics, and a lot more from a worldly perspective and how the Bible address it. Thank you for the support! I pray this post and this episode blesses your life and your walk with Christ
